Memorial Day

We I have been really slow getting this up, considering the two other posts above it got posted before I got around to posting this one.

For Memorial Day we decided to go to a farm.  Our neighbor told us about Alstede Farms.  It sounded like fun, so off we went and this is what we found there.

They had some animals that our kids enjoyed looking at.

But what they enjoyed the most was the corn box, similar to a sand box but filled with corn.  They played in there for a good hour and still didn't want to get out.

I just love this picture of Jamie, he looks so cute.

They also had strawberry picking and a fun market where they sold different things from their farm or little businesses nearby.  As well as other garden accessories.  It was a fun day even if the drive seemed a little long.

My New Look

Yesterday, Brian gave me the morning off, as I called it.  One reason for this was so that I could get my hair cut.  I also got a call before leaving for my morning out that my new glasses were in so I could go and pick those up.  I dropped one of my contacts down the sink a few weeks ago.  I had only my 10-15 year old glasses to wear.  A week or so later when I finally made it to an eye doctor he told me that I was nearly functionally blind with my glasses on.  I opted to get new glasses and then decide about getting contacts again later.

Well, after a relaxing and productive morning out my dear husband could hardly recognize the woman who entered his house.

I finally listened to what my husband has been trying to tell me for years and cut off all of my hair.   Thankfully he likes it, I am still deciding if I do or not.

The decision to cut off all my hair was made at the salon, so we didn't get a before picture of what I did look like and since I am usually the one taking the pictures the most recent picture I have of myself is from Easter.  It may not be the best picture, but you can see what my hair was like.

Baby Bunny!!!

Lizzie stared at this bush for a lot of today.  We first saw the bunny when we came home from church hiding in a big bush in our front yard.  After dinner we went for a walk and found the little bunny sitting under the little bush that Lizzie is looking at.  Seeing bunnies around here where we live is quite normal, but they usually run away when we get close.

Here is the little bunny in question.  So very small and cute.

Lets see the little guy again.

We were considering bringing him inside and making him our pet, but we were afraid that he still needed his mommy to feed him, plus we don't have any bunny food or anywhere to keep him.  Lizzie surprisingly was all for the idea and didn't want to come inside without the bunny.  If the bunny continues to live in our front yard without any signs of a mommy rabbit then we might have found ourselves a  new pet.  Yesterday, we did see quite a large bunny in our back yard and we wonder if that might be the mommy bunny.

This was just a cute picture tha I took while we were looking at the bunny!!

Well I can now say that I am up to date with my blog, Yea!!!  I guess now I better take more pictures and find more things to write about!!!

Splashing in the Rain!!!

I know I showed some of these pictures before but I thought that I would put up more of my kiddos playing in the rain!!!  I really did enjoy watching them.  I guess next I will need to get them some wellies.  Enjoy the pictures!!!

And now time for a movie to show off how cute these kids really are when playing in the rain!!!

Cousins come to play!!!

On April 26 and 27 Brian's Sister Emily stopped by while on her way to Boston with the family.  It was so much fun to see the kids all playing together and having so much fun.  The only pictures I got were of them playing in front of our house on Monday.

They found that it was fun to pick all of the dandelions from our front lawn.

I was a little to slow at getting the group picture.

Sunday we had Brian's parents over as well for a big family dinner.  It was Brian's dad's first time being here and his mom hadn't seen it since the day that we closed on it.  All in all it was a great time and so nice to have family there.

Gone Fishing!

Well due to me not feeling to good for the last few weeks, I have some catching up to do with this blogging stuff.  I am hoping that what I had was just swine flu so that I won't have to look forward to it again next year.  I don't have allergies.  I don't have allergies.

On April 25th the local fire department held a Fishing Derby.  Even though I wasn't feeling good we went to see what it was all about.  We didn't have any fishing poles but some nice people who have reach there limit for the day let us use their fishing pole for a while to see if we could catch anything.  It was fun to be able to fish for a time and to have the kids try out fishing.  Here are some pictures of the day.

The picture below shows what they really enjoyed doing there.

Well that was our day fishing.  We enjoyed the short time that I could handle being there.

Lizzie Turns 31!!

Well I figure that since I did a Jamie update for his six month birthday and I didn't for Lizzie that I should give a little update for her for her seven month birthday.

She has most recently started to talk a lot, although I am still trying to figure out half of what she is saying.

She can be as cute as they come, or as demanding and whinny as you would expect a two-year-old to be.  Hence why she got to try on her swimsuit before going to bed one day.

She loves to clean and will clean most anything she can.

I found out yesterday that there is one thing in which her cleanliness bug doesn't hit and that is when it comes to jumping in puddles.  For once she wasn't bothered that she was wet up to her knees.

She is very good at finding things and getting things for me when needed.
(She doesn't just find the things with the candy inside.)

She (like Jamie) enjoys her pre-dinner snack of spinach, however she is not quite as willing to eat anything placed in front of her without bribery.

Both Lizzie and Jamie have become very helpful in setting and clearing the table.
They would really like to load the dishwasher too, but I have yet to figure out how to have them help much with that.

Well that is a little bit of what my little girl is doing now.
We love her and are grateful to have her in our family!!!

Jamie Turns 18!!

My little man turned 18 months today,
so I figure that I should write a few words about why I love him so.

He is always ready to give a smile!!

He also loves to give snuggles and kisses!!

He loves to play . . .

and explore the world around him.

He is working on growing up big and strong by eating his spinach (and almost anything else that you give him, except dessert) . . .

and exercising just like mommy does with her big ball.

He loves to push buttons and would do it all the time if I would let him.

He is growing so fast.
He is starting to walk like a big kid, and has lost his steps of faith.
He has even started talking, saying almost everything that Lizzie, does just not quite as clearly.

Well that is our little boy full of giggles and fun,  energy and curiosity, determination and strength.

We love you Jamie!!!
Happy 18th!!!
