Down On The Farm!

Peach Picking - September 4th

One Saturday we decided to go to our favorite local farm to have the kids pick some peaches. We had a hard time finding some ripe ones because I thought they needed to be soft. As for the kids they loved running around in the trees. . .

and being lifted up to pick the peaches.

After we thought our basket was full enough and we began walking back to the hayride stop we found some big, soft beautiful looking peaches and decided to pick a few more.

The kids had a very hard time not eating a peach on our way back so that we could pay for it.

When we did finally get to try the peaches, I found that they big, soft, beautiful peaches, did not taste much like a peach to me. Thankfully Brian did like them. Sometimes I wish I had not been so spoiled growing up eating the best peaches ever!!

I then suggested to my kids (yes, the ones who cry when they see a little dog) that they take a pony ride. We have an annual pass so such things as this are included in the cost for that, so I thought I would give it a try.

They did it!!!! They rode a pony!!!! I was so excited. They did want me to hold their hands while doing so, but I was more then willing to do so in order to see them riding an animal of any sort. Afterwards, Lizzie said that she liked horses, but still not dogs.

This is one of there favorite things to do, climb on the haystack.

Corn Maze - October 23rd.

We went back later with some friends to go through the corn maze. Sadly we didn't get to the big maze but the kids really liked the little maze.

They took a ride on the tractor train with them.

And then rode the ponies all by themselves. Lizzie even told me to leave. Sad to start hearing from my child, but also very exciting to see her getting braver and willing to do things on her own.

Dance Class - November 8th

I don't think I have ever wished to have a camera with me as much as I did at Lizzie's last dance class of the season. The kids and I got to sit in watch the class. Jamie was having a very hard time just sitting and watching. Each time the teacher called the kids to do something Jamie was ready to go, so I let him take off his shoes and was having he do the motions right in front of me on the floor. I looked away when the teacher called the kids to go over to the bar (it was a ballet class), by the time I notice him he was half way across the floor and I just let him go. He ended up taking the rest of the class, and it was the funniest thing ever. He had on jeans and a spiderman shirt doing ballet moves surrounded by girls in leotards and tutus. As I said I wish I had pictures, but no camera and not even a working phone to take the picture with. They used to both want to take gymnastics, but now Jamie wants to take dance. My little ballerina.

Imagine That! - August 31st

Imagine That! is a children's museum that is near us. We had a play group there on August 31st. It was fun to be there with other friends. There are many different areas to try different things there and the kids really enjoyed it. We even went back a month later or so.

They have an area to dance with a video playing to show them what to do, that is what all the kids are looking at in this picture. Doesn't Jamie look cute in a tutu.

They also had an area with all different cars, trucks, planes to sit in and play in.

That is Lizzie looking through the window in the back.

I think that the kids could have spent the whole time playing on this boat. They liked climbing up the slide and sliding down the ramp.

And oh how they enjoyed shopping!!!

What a fun thing to do on a cold winter day!!! We will probably be returning on such days!!

Sesame Place - Aug. 21 & Oct. 9

I have thought that it would be a waste of money to take my kids to an amusement park even one for kids. My kids seemed like the kind who would not be interested in ride, perhaps even to scared to try any of them. Then a friend told me that they went to Sesame Place and her child enjoyed it. It made me think that maybe my kids would enjoy it since this boy didn't seem so brave. So I decided that we should go for my birthday. Strangely when you buy a ticket it is good for any two days, so we ended up going back to celebrate Lizzie's birthday as well. The
kids seemed to love it. They went on any ride that they could. We found that it was a bit difficult with three kids and two adults. It was usually just one parent to go on the ride with the kids, so they couldn't go on the rides that needed an adult for each kids because someone had to stay with Chloe, who couldn't go on any rides.

They had a merry-go-around.

Big Bird's Balloon Race
Aug. 21
Oct. 9

I think this one was called a bed bug ride. It went around in circles and the kids loved it!!

The big winner was this big slide that they could go down. This was one of the few things that didn't have much of a line. When we were there in August the kids had to push themselves down, while in October they slide down just fine. We think it is related to the humidity.

Lizzie and I did get to go on one ride all by ourselves and that was the roller coaster. I was amazed with how brave she was in wanting to go and how much she enjoyed it. Jamie was to young according to the sign so he had to go play someplace else.

But when we went back in October we figured that since Jamie was only a month away from being three and tall enough that we would let him ride also. He loved it. We even figured out that we could all stand in line together and then pass the baby and ride one set at a time.

It was fun to see the kids enjoying the ride, but even more they enjoyed the water!!! There were many different places to play in the water for the little ones, I only got a picture of a few of them.

When we went back in October it was a pretty warm day so we took our swimsuits, but the only water things open were two slide, this one that the kids enjoyed and a big one that was a little scary for them.

We ended the first day watching the parade.

They were celebrating their 30th birthday and sang a great birthday song for one of the numbers in the parade. Half way through the song I realized that I should be recording it as they were sing happy birthday to me!!!!

It was a fun way to celebrate some birthdays and so fun to see the kids being brave and enjoying the rides. Now perhaps someday I will let my husband convince me that we should take the kids to Disney World but only while school is in session. I do not want to be there when everyone else is.

A Day at the Lake - Aug. 14th

We had talked for a long time with some friends about going to a lake for a day. We finally found a fun little late and decided to go play for the morning. Here are some pictures from the adventure.

Chloe wasn't to sure about getting her feet in the water.

They even took a boat ride, though I had to stay back with Chloe.
